Regional Notes: The Biltmore Estate, Gardens & Winery is the most popular tourist attraction in the Asheville area. Located just north (at the bottom of the hill) of I-40 exit 50 (see top map), the hotels that are truly 'near' the Estate are on US-25 at I-40 exit 50. There are several hotels in the area using 'Biltmore' in their names but are quite some distance (6 to 10 miles) from the Estate.

Driving an automobile in the Asheville-Hendersonville area is rarely challenging. Rental cars are less expensive here than many other places around the U.S.A. (except during the Autumn 'leaf-looking' season).
