The
William P Hobby Airport is Houston's old airport and, now, one of
Houston's three major airports. Two of them, Hobby and Bush Fields, are used for
scheduled commercial flights and the third, Ellington Field, is
primarily for commercial freight, military and general aviation.
Hobby Field is only 7 miles (south) of central Houston.
