North Augusta Hippodrome
The Hippodrome includes an open-air equestrian
arena and stables situated on 32 acres. More than 30 equine events are scheduled
throughout the year. Events include barrel horse racing, team penning, cutting horse
competitions and open benefit horse shows. The facility also hosts concerts, car show and

Redcliffe Plantation (Beech
Island)
Redcliffe was constructed in 1859 by South
Carolina Governor James H. Hammond. In 1973, the 369-acre plantation was donated to the
state by John Shaw Billings, a Hammond descendent and former editor of Time and Life
magazines. The house has many of its original furnishings and works of art on display.
Redcliffe Plantation State Park is located 3
miles southeast of Beech Island off US-278.
